Last weekend the 9th and 10th of February I had both my wonderful nieces, Sarah and Thea, here for a sleep over. It was Thea´s first time so I was a little excited as she is only five…but it went well.

Sarah arrived before noon as Thea had her dance class on Saturday. For that it turned out that my Bro met a guy that he went to school with that had a boy dancing in Thea´s class, so they were invited for lunch….and Sarah didn´t feel to join that.
So Sarah arrived before noon and we spend a few enjoyable hours together.
We printed out some English copies of our book “Gysse the Piglet” to send out…

Sarah also got to feed her beloved seagulls;)

Thea arrived around four and we played with Barbie dolls and made drawings...

The girls had invited Mum for dinner and she arrived an hour before dinner and had a great time with the girls. They played and we watched Tom and Jerry…

They had fun making the dinner; Gordon Bleu, sausages in a blanket, potatoes and bread…
Thea that is incredible finicky ate a lot. Maybe because we were just talking and having fun and we all just ate the combination of food that we liked ;)

After, Mum and I did the dishes and cleaned up and Sarah gave Thea a bath. It was the first time Sarah was in charge of that and she took it very seriously..and it went well.
Then we had some snacks and watched a program about baby animals and then Mum went home and I put Thea to bed.

Sarah and Thea were sleeping on foldout beds in the living room so we turned off the TV and turned out the lights. I read “Gysse the Piglet” for her and Sarah sang some lullabies and within minutes she was fast asleep.
I then put her into my bed so that we could watch TV, as Sarah found sodas and snacks for the movie.
We watched the 1932 “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” again, Sarah is insanely in love with Mr Hyde ;)
After the movie we put Thea back in her own bed and went to bed our selves.

Sunday started at 8 in the morning as a little bundle of energy threw herself upon me and squealed; “Aunty Annette, wake up, I´ve made earrings for you!”
And I was up!!! Turned out her and Sarah had woken some time earlier and watched TV and made earrings for me.

So I got up and made breakfast, and we ate while watching more Tom and Jerry cartoons.

The girls wanted to play MasterChef again so we sat up in the kitchen. I´ve bought a sponge cake that I cut in slices and then they decorated the slices with 3 different colours of frosting and six kinds of sprinkles.

Sunday was also Shrovetide and Mum had made “Fastelavnsris” for the girls, so Sarah took some of the cakes and went and got them, there were candy and money on them so they liked them a lot…

After playing a little more the girls got picked up at 4pm.
And I think we all had an amazing weekend.

What happened next and why I haven’t been around the past week will be in my next post….

Beautiful pictures. As always. All of you seem to have had a great time. :)

Am I really the first commenter to this entry? Go me!

P.S.: I have always been wondering... Since you are from Denmark. Do you talk English to your family?

Thank you Babe, I´m so happy that you like the post and pictures..

Uhmmmm...no we speak Danish here.
But Sarah has English lessons at school now so sometime we practice.
We translated Gysse to give you guys a chance to read it;)

And last year I had burned_phoenix staying for a week, so there we all spoke English, even Thea;)

Thea was a trooper, no problems at all.

We..I´ve been sick last week, but that is another post;)
Feb. 19th, 2013 06:15 pm (UTC)
Of course! You gals look like you had a blast!

Of course she was a trooper. She's got the best aunt in the world! And it seems like a pretty awesome big sister too.

I get such a kick outta seeing the girls (although I have to admit, I giggle sometimes when I see how blonde they are. It's a stereotype here that Danes are very blonde.)

I'm glad that you being sick doesn't seem to have been anything serious? I'll wait and read the other post. *hugs*

Awwwww you are sooo sweet♥♥

LOL yes they are very blonde, they got that from my Bro, he is really blonde too;)

Feb. 20th, 2013 02:20 pm (UTC)

They are adorable though. So it doesn't matter where they got it from.
