First; thank you to all of you that have send me those wonderful V-Gifts. I am so happy and grateful for all of them.
Second; once again to all of you for the lovely presents and Christmas cards that you have send for me and Mum. We are so very grateful for everything.
Last; Sorry for not reading and answering posts the past days, but unfortunately FRANK THE STUPID LJ GOAT, has been nibbling on the wires so I could not get access to my LJ.
I hope it will work now, as I want to post about my Christmas and comment on your posts.

Christmas in our family starts on December 23rd, where we celebrate a kind of Christmas at my place.
It is a thing that has been going on for 25 years, but the amount of people here has changed over the years. It has ranged from our entire family till Mum and I as it has been the past years after Dad died.
This year we had a Christmas tree with presents from some of you guys and then we had dinner and enjoyed our time together.

Our dinner table

Here in Denmark we celebrate Christmas on December 24th in the evening.
Mum and I had been invited to Bro, Sil and Sarah and Thea, so we went there in the afternoon. The weather wasn’t too bad so Mum could drive without any problems.
Thea came charging out of the front door to welcome us when we arrived and after her helloes, her words were “did you remember the presents!”
We had and the squeaks from her and Sarah at the sight of the presents could only be heard by very small dogs I think ;)
Mum and I spend a couple of hours between Sarah and Teas rooms with the girls and a little in the dining room, talking to Bro and Sil and drinking vine.
We had a nice traditional Christmas dinner; roast pork (overlooked on the grill by my bro), white potatoes, gravy, red cabbage and sugar potatoes (where Sarah’s only concern on her mums try was; “they have to be as great as grandma’s”)..(They were not, so Sarah demanded sugar potatoes the next time she will be dining with Mum ;))
But dinner was good and we talked and had a good time.
Then it was time to put the presents under the tree, and the girls had a blast, as there was a LOT of presents

After singing a few carols, not as many as Sarah, Mum and I would have liked, but my Bro and Sil hates to sing and Thea was impatient;), we all found a seat and Sarah brought us our presents.
Thea got to open hers first and Sarah was next in line.
There was a lot of joy and squealing going on and it was so lovely seeing the girls get so happy with their presents.

I´ve bought Thea a Monster High doll and a game “where you were to smack a rat”, Sarah go a Monster High doll too and two Monster High books. They got a Monster High DVD to share.
Mum gave Thea a MH-doll and a ghost game, Sarah a Troll-beard (a green armadillo) in a chain and tree Pirates of the Caribbean books. They got a Barbie DVD to share.
Thea got a lot of toys and Sarah a lot of clothes from their parents.

Thea had bought me a figurine to put earrings on and she was almost bursting with pride when I opened it ;)

Sarah had knitted me a dishtowel, made origami animals, and gotten her friends mum to make two pearl beads for me (and two for Mum too)
We spend a couple of hours unpacking and playing with the girl’s presents, and then we had dessert and coffee,
Around 10.30 Mum and I said thank you and goodnight and went home.

It was a lovely Christmas evening.

On December 25th Mum and I had our Christmas..more to come soon;)

I'm glad to hear you had such nice Christmas. Oh!, and I can see the cup pads I made. Nice. :)

Ah, that nice time when the kids still like to have their pics taken. I don't remember the last time we took some photos during Christmas. Or birthdays. I don't mind, but it's weird.

Give my love to your girls. Take care! :)

I like your Christmas tree but is it common in Denmark to decorate it with your national flag? I honestly can say that I´ve never seen something like this before ;)

Anyways, thanks for sharing your Christmas with us and a Happy New Year to you :)

Thank you hon.

The tradition with the flags started around 1864, when Denmark lost Holsten, Lauenborg and Slesvig to Germany in the Slesvigian War.
The Danes in Germany did it to prove that they were still Danes and here in Denmark we still do it to prove patrioism;)

I´m happy that you like my tree and my post.
Happy New Year to you too.

Awww, what a lovely post! It sounds like such a lovely Christmas! And what a lot of presents the girls got - no wonder they were excited!

A question: what are sugar potatoes? I've never heard of them! All I can think is regular potatoes with sugar on them?!
