…or she might cry….

For some time now I have been friended by some - for me - really suspicious people.
I’ve tried to delete those people, you know the one with the blue arrow that “lists you as a friend”..
I get a message that says, XXX have been removed from your friends list, see your updated xxxxxxxxxx….

But they are not… so my question is; how do you remove someone that friends you, that you have not friended back.
I have had this LJ for 5½ years now, and I don’t know how to remove someone from my flist..

I don’t know if that makes me a good friend, or just plain stupid;)

Any help will be appreciated;)

As far as I know you cant remove those people who friend you but you havent friended back. They are able to see your public posts if they have you added. So your best bet would be to make all your posts friends-only. It's rather annoying and I know how you feel.

Unless someone else knows otherwise I'd love to find out myself. lol

I hope that helps. :)

I'm pretty sure you can't remove them. If they've friended you, but you haven't friended them back--they can only see your PUBLIC posts, nothing that you mark as friends only. If that makes you feel better.

I've got a ton of people that have friended me for fic, that I don't friend back. I just make anything that's personal or regards to my life or that I feel is personal "friends" only. That way these people that I don't know...can't view it.

Does any of that help?

It does help thanks honey. It is not that I post things that nobody else might read, it is just that I´ve gotten a lot of Russian "friends" and I have no idea where they come from and why they chose me..
Thank you for your help...

If you ban them, you remove them and disallow any interaction from them :)

Um... not that I have ever done this *whistles innocently*

You can't de-friend people that you haven't friended. Ban them, or just keep your entries friends-only and they won't be able to read them. I know it's annoying, I have many 'friends' like that.

I found the Ban button, so now they are gone;)
Thanks for the help here.

The thing is - and I don't want to scare you, hon, but that's just a fact: Anybody who wants to can come to your LJ and read your public entries. The only difference when they've friended you (without you friending them back) is that they'll see your entries on their friendpage, meaning they automatically know when you've made a new entry.

I have a few people like that on my flist, in my case I figure they're reading my fic because everything private is under flock anyway.

Try the banning thing, I hope it helps.

Oh, and I wouldn't think too much about why they've added you, I think a lot of us have some of those types on our flist. Before the incident with one of my pics I never really thought about the fact that there's probably a bunch of people who's read my LJ without me realizing, lol.

I know people can read my Lj and that is ok, and I don´t mind people friending me at all.
What I do mind is getting friended by people with no same interests at all, people that have nothing posted in their Lj´s and people with scary russian lj that I cannot read at all;)

Hi Annette, i agree with the ladies above, you can't defriend these people but so long as you've not already friended them then they can't see any 'friends only' posts

XxXxX

I hope you are feeling better

I think that you can't remove someone who friended you.
You can "ban" them but I'm not sure it'd defriend them or if they still can see your LJ... Perhaps if you ask for LJ help?

Since yesterday I'm trying to clean my LJ because I have so many comms that I belong too that I don't follow anymore and so many people who actually never comment or talk to me... (Even if I still can't defriend people -_- I'm just like that!)

I saw that you're talking about russian people friending you. I know, I had a few myself. One thing I can tell you, some of them defriend you if you don't friend them back. I think they just checked members from community they like and try to make friends. (Though, it would be nice if they just asked, right? So you'd know a little about them...)

I'm not sure I helped xD

You sure did help Sweetie.
I´ve Banned some and they dissapeared from my flist.
I don´t mind people friending me at all, but it would be nice to know a little about them have some of the same fandoms or interests and being able to read their LJ.
I don´t read Russian at all and a lot of them have nothing posted at all....
Weird;)
♥Big hugs and Love♥

...and thank you thank you thank you so much for your wonderful Angel card. It is really beautiful and I am so touched about your kind and caring words.
♥Love you Sweetie♥

I don´t mind people friending me, but the least they can do is to make sure we have just a tiny bit in common. Or that I can read their entries;).
I found the Ban button and removed them, it was people with nothing in their Lj at all...
♥hugs♥

How are you honey?

I found a Ban button and that helped a lot;)

My little heart as in ♥ ??
You press your Alt-button and your 3-button (the one at the number section) at the same time then you have a ♥ ;)
The Alt and another number makes diffrent things..
