Last Friday I had the meeting with the jobcentre and to be completely honest I was a bit worried. I had an appointment at 10 and as always Mum went with me.
The woman that is going to be my supervisor is young and giggly but really nice.
She talked a lot about how the centre worked and then she showed me the place where I would be, the it centre. I got to talk to a few of the people there too.
Then she told me about the plan she had for me.
Starting September 6th, I will have six weeks of physiotherapy/training a couple of hours every other day. After that I will have 15 weeks at the it centre, the hours there are negotiable for now. There will be someone following me the whole time and making reports on my workability, to be discussed when it is over..then we’ll see.
If my health can’t cope I can stop and they will find something else for me to try…I have to go through three different kind of job training before they will consider the disability pension.
But I’m positive for now…

Friday afternoon Mum and I went to our allotment to meet my brother, SIL, Sarah and Thea.
It was so nice to see the girls again. We had brought coffee and juice and snacks and had a few enjoyable hours. My brother cut the grass and cut the hedge. He is going to help us by a new lawnmower and stuff.
Sarah, Thea and I picked blackcurrants and Thea had a lot of fun with poking me with a stick;)
I had brought my new cane for the day and Sarah looked at it, then looked at me and said; ”so I guess this is Steve Cane??”…..so it is;)

So all in all Friday was a good day.

The weekend was mostly spend cleaning out some of my Dads things and selling some on the internet…we’re going to spend the money on the families in Bosnia.
I’ve gotten a throat infection and a fever, I think my body is trying to tell me something.

Today I was up at the crack of dawn, well 6.15 cause were getting water metres on where I live and they would be here between 7 and 4...he arrived at 10 stayed 1½ hour and was completely rude and hated the cats.
Stupid jerk.
So I spend the morning writing cards and stuff and then took a nap when he left.

Tomorrow Mum and I are going shopping and then cleaning my flat, it needs that;)

Wednesday I have my 6 month check-up at the hospital….I hope it goes well as usual, I can’t handle more bad things right now…

I hope things just start going up from now on.

You mentioned family in Bosnia a few times... you have close family there? Do you speak croatian?

Aug. 23rd, 2010 07:39 pm (UTC)
Thank you honey, to be honest so so I.

Oh no, it is not "real" family. It is two families my parents and I "adopted" through a danish organisation after the war.
We send them parcels every two months, food, cloths, schoolthings, candy, toys, kitchenwear, everything you can think of.
It is a charity, but we have known them for 6 years now, so they are kind of real family, and knows whats going on with us and we knows about them.
So I don´t speak croatian, sorry. We have a translater here tht translates all the letters back and forth.

It was a guy who was putting up water metres to see how much water we use, he left a not Friday that he would be here between 7 AM and 4 PM, then he came at 10 and it took him 1½ hour to put up the metres. And he was not nice at all.

I will honey I promise.

Hi Annette, you know, going back to work might do you the power of good, it'll help take your mind off things and give you some confidence in yourself again - and of course some much needed money :) So long as your health can cope, then I'm sure you'll actually find you'll enjoy it!

Glad you had an enjoyable time Friday afternoon with your family :D

oh - thank you for the 'thank you' card, lol you didn't have to spend out on a card my friend :D

Good luck for Wednesday, my fingers & toes will be crossed for you for continued good health XxX

I can start at a couple of hours a day and then see how much I can handle, it is training so it is diffrent than a real job.
Problem is that if I can´t work 37 hours a week I can´t get a paid job, and I can´t do that because I´m partly invalid from the side effects of chemo and radiation...but the system works that way I have to go through it, so I do....but I´m not overdoing it, if there is something I can´t do I wont do it.

I´ve been writing cards to everyone that have send condolence cards to us, so sure you would get one too.

Thank you so much Susan♥

Well, the work plan does not sound too bad. They'll be giving you opportunity to pace yourself, so that is good.

I hope your check up goes well too. Let us know how it goes. Love. T.
