My dads birthday was Thursday and he turned 65 and became a senior citizen.
Mum and I had bought two gifts for him, a book written by a Danish soldier about his time in Afghanistan, and a bracelet; From Soldier to Soldier.
My Dad is very concerned about the war in Afghanistan and that being one of his charities we thought he would like the presents; and he did;)
I’ve also printed all your kind regards and laminated them and he was very touched about them.

We went to my grandmother and aunt for brunch, and another aunt was there too, so we had a couple of enjoyable hours. Dad told them he had gotten love letters from all over the world;)

The bracelet

The book

I had an appointment with my physiotherapist and after that I went home to get a bit of rest before the birthday dinner.
It was just Dad, Mum and me and it was cosy. We had duck with everything and red wine and later apple pie and coffee.
Everything went the way Dad wanted it, and he had a wonderful day.

Friday got an early start as Mum and I had to be at Sarah’s school at 8am. (I know it isn’t early for a lot of people, but for me who need 1½ hour to get the full potential of my meds before I’m able to move around outside it is early^^)
we arrived ahead of Sarah and she actually squealed when she saw us, and ran up and gave us hugs and kisses in front of her entire class and teacher;)
We spend 3½ hours, making decorations, stars and hearts to put up in their class.
Sarah had ordered coffee and waffles for us, and we also sang a few hymns.

After that we went home and collected Sarah’s things and went home here.
We got her settled in and at 4pm we all went for Christmas Night, Sarah, my parents, my aunt and me.

First we went to the museum, they had an exhibition of Dam Trolls.

Troll animals

Mum, Sarah, Dad

Then we went to the square, where the Christmas Town is. It is a lot of wooden huts, where you can buy a lot of Christmas stuff, food and drinks.
There was also a ferris wheel, and Sarah, Mum and I went into it. Sarah had been talking about that since she was four, so now she wanted to try it;)

The ferris wheel

After that we went around the ”Town”, and bought different stuff.
Dam Trolls, Russian Christmas decorations, presents and candy.

Sarah on Santas bed

Sarah and Santa

When we got hungry we split up. Sarah and Dad went to McDonalds for quarter pounders, Mum and me wanted baguette sandwiches and my aunt hot dogs.

After another round in the Town we went home, but we spend 3½ hours there.

Sarah and I then made popcorn and coffee and watched tv before bed.

Saturday after breakfast Sarah and I went with my Mum to the library, as she had to put up her Troll exhibition.

Sarah and some trolls

Then the church had the annual Christmas day so we went and spent a lot of money at the lottery;)
We went for groceries afterwards as Sarah had gotten permission to stay until Sunday.
She wanted quarter pounders for dinner;)
We spend a couple of hours making decorations and enjoying ourselves.

It takes a lot of concentration

And the result is great

We watched some tv and had our coffee and pop corn before bed.

Sunday after breakfast my sister-in-law came to get Sarah, so that was the end of that weekend. But she’ll be back the 20th and then we’ll make cookies;)

Today Mum and I went and got our second swine flu shot and bought some presents.
I’ve started on my Christmas card list and feel really proud of myself^^

Great pics. It sounds as if you all had a wonderful time. The pictures of the town hall actually made me feel quite festive...something that doesn't usually happen for me until nearer Xmas.
